About the Reisterstown Branch |

The building which houses the Reisterstown Branch dates from the 1820s when it was knows as the Franklin Academy. In 1874, it became the first high school in Baltimore County. The building became the Reisterstown Branch Library in 1961.

Housed in the branch is a collection of documents, photographs, news articles and family histories about Reisterstown and the surrounding area. It is open on Tuesdays, Noon to 3 p.m. and the first three Saturdays of the month, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please call before visiting to be sure that our History Room volunteers have arrived.
