When our librarians are not available, Maryland AskUsNow!, (opens in new window) a 24 hours 7 days a week live online interactive chat service is available. It uses the expertise of librarians across the United States to provide Maryland residents and students of Maryland educational institutions with answers to questions, research guidance, and help navigating the Internet. Maryland librarians participate during assigned business hours. Questions needing local expertise are sent to Baltimore County Public Libraries for follow-up as needed.

Four bookmobiles serve Baltimore County residents. Library on the Go Senior and Library on the Go Junior make community stops including senior centers and retirement homes around Baltimore County. and visit special needs schools. Read Rover and Read Rover Plus provides library services to licensed child care centers in Baltimore County. Stories and or programs are presented at each scheduled Read Rover stop.

Provides comprehensive library services to the eligible blind and physically handicapped residents of the State of Maryland. They can be contacted directly through this webform. (opens in new window)
Lends digital and cassette talking books, Braille, large print books, and descriptive videos for those unable to read standard print. Books and magazines in the collection are recorded at a slower speed than conventional recordings. Although you will need the special equipment loaned by the library to listen to their materials, you can play commercial audiotapes on the equipment. Textbooks, curriculum designed materials and popular music recordings are not available. Information on sources for this material may be obtained upon request. Materials and equipment circulated through the mail free of charge or through walk-in service.
